I’m Cayden's uncle James and this boy is the sweetest, kind, fun-loving boy I know. I love him with all my heart and with a heavy heart, I ask for help.

Cayden and his family have just been hit with the unthinkable.

You never think that it could possibly happen to you. Out of nowhere, Chasity woke her son up for school as she always does on Monday morning 5/20. She found Cayden in his bed having a seizure. She rushed him to the hospital where he was transferred and admitted into Rainbows Children’s Hospital. Over the course of the next two following days, Cayden had about 14 minor focal seizures. He spent plenty of time recording these events on an EEG where they were able to identify where in the brain this was coming from. Only the right side of Cayden‘s body was affected during these episodes and they spent time with various doctors, neurologists, and neurosurgeons to rule out stroke. Given the detailed information that we still required the next morning, Cayden was sedated and they performed an MRI where they unfortunately found something very noticeably wrong. Cayden is otherwise a healthy 10-year-old boy who has never dealt with this before… Cayden’s parents never expected to hear that their child has bleeding in his brain and needs brain surgery.

Due to this tragic unforeseen circumstance, this is leaving such an awful financial and psychological strain on the family. Cayden’s parents have three children total therefore this has left both parents completely out of work and the travel cost to and from the hospital every day have been racking up unbelievably fast. I am trying and hoping to do everything to help this family heal so they can help Cayden recover as quickly as possible without the financial burden and the loss that comes with.

Cayden and his family are currently waiting in the pediatric ICU working on getting Cayden healthy enough for his brain surgery which is anticipated to take place Tuesday morning.
