Support Catslash's Healing and Recovery

Donation protected
I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend and collaborator Catslash.

Cat is widely known for his art and music, but he keeps his personal life private. Due to absolute emergency, he has agreed to let me share the details of his current situation in an effort to ask his friends, fans, and community for support.

Starting at the end of 2020, Cat began experiencing debilitating chronic pain that radiates throughout his whole body, but mostly affects his spine and chest. He has seen many doctors, rheumatologists, gone to physical therapy, received acupuncture, and has even taken himself to the emergency room several times during bouts of extreme pain. So far, the only thing close to a diagnosis he has been given is some kind of vague nerve disease. He has and is doing all that he can to find answers and relief to the pain he is experiencing in his body.

He has suffered through working full time at a warehouse job over the last couple of years, doing his best to ignore the pain in order to make the money he needs to be able to afford the basic costs of living, along with getting the tools he needs to make his art and further his career.

This is no longer sustainable for him. About a week ago Cat had to quit his job because of the toll it was taking on his physical and mental wellbeing. His chronic pain has been impeding him for years but working this job has made his suffering completely unbearable. He has been suffering through this pain in silence just so he can afford to exist. Only those close to him know about the pain that prevents him from living the life he wants. His constant pain has fully integrated into his daily experience- affecting every part of his life. It gets so bad sometimes that he can't move or walk. His flare ups result in an inability to focus or think about anything else besides the hurt. He wakes up every day in excruciating pain that just keeps getting worse.

We are asking for 6,000 to help Cat with his survival. The only thing that provides any minor amount of relief is rest, and he can't have that if he is working 50 hours a week. He doesn't have time to seek the medical help he needs to remediate or solve his illness.

This money would be used to pay Cat's rent for the next 3 months so that he can focus on getting help and healing. He needs money to get on decent health insurance, and have a budget for commuting to doctors appointments and getting around town more easily.

Cat is facing a major health crisis that few understand. He is also a profound musician with a sizable following. Cat is widely admired, and for good reason. He is an incredibly caring and giving person to the people in his life.

Cat's survival is imperative. Included in this, is his necessity to keep creating art. He can do neither of these things in the current state of his life. So we ask you to invest not only in Cat's life and healing, but also his career as an influential artist and musician.

I've included links to some of his work so that those reading this and donating understand the magnitude of his creative prominence.

Your donations are received with ultimate gratitude. They will help relieve Cat of the current financial strain that is hindering him from getting the medical assistance he needs to continue living and making art.
