Hi, my name is Catrina. My friend Kevin is here helping me because I came close to being evicted last week. I am usually able to pay my bills because I work as a housekeeper in a federal building 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. I usually receive Social Security disability assistance because I am deaf, but Social Security benefits have been unreliable. I really don't like asking for help because I pride myself on being independent, but Kevin has now convinced me that I should have a financial cushion when my income proves to be unreliable.

I live very modestly, despite the rising cost of living in Atlanta. My rent is $200 per week, and the last week of the month it is $312. My light bill is $150. My transportation costs only $100 per month, and groceries are around $100 per week. I'm hoping to have an emergency cushion with this GoFundMe. Right now though, I don't even have the $25 for transportation to get to work next week, no money for food, and I need $200 for rent on August 22.
