Please Help with Catrick Swayze's Medical Bills

Catrick Swayze was diagnosed with diabetes at the beginning of February. We were able to manage it with a prescribed food diet and insulin. However, the insulin pen that we were given from the pharmacy had a short flimsy needle that bent as we administered the medicine. We talked with the pharmacy and changed to a larger needle size. This helped but the needles were still not long enough and continued to bend. Because of this, Catrick was not getting the correct insulin dose. On Thursday morning, February 20th, Catrick refused his food and was extremely lethargic. The night before, the needle broke and most of the insulin went on to his fur. The vet got him in on an emergency basis that morning and it was determined that he has Ketoacidosis and Diabetic Neuropathy. He was admitted overnight and the next morning he threw up his food. The vet is closed over the weekend so we had to transport him to Blue Pearl, the emergency vet clinic. He was immediately admitted and set up with a continuous IV of insulin and fluids. His Ketone levels were dangerously high along with very low Phosphorus and Potassium levels. He was given a PICC line to administer meds and take blood without having to poke him repeatedly. We were told that we have a very sick boy but that there was hope. We had to pay almost five thousand dollars to leave him there that night ensuring that he will be there over the weekend. Since he has had a continuous insulin line he has gradually increased his Phosphorus and Potassium levels along with reduced the amount of Ketones. This is a long process and he still has a ways to go. Blue Pearl is closed on Monday morning so we will have to transport him back to his primary vet. If they are not comfortable with having him there due to the PICC line then we need to find a different vet that has the comfort level and capacity to take him on. If we cannot find a local vet then we will need to transfer him down to the emergency vet in Minneapolis. We will not find out where he is going until Monday morning. We have already paid over two thousand dollars at his primary vet and there will be more charges incurred as we move forward. Shannon lost her job in October due to company restructure and has not been successful in finding new employment yet. Please consider donating to help our adventure boy get healthy. He is only five and has many more years of adventures ahead of him. He has been our emotional support animal through very tough times and we will never give up on him.
