Supporting Catina & Matt McKee During an Unimaginably Difficult Time

Our rescue family is asking for help for someone who has spent countless hours helping others — both animals and people. Right now, it’s Catina and her husband Matt who need us.

Catina, our dedicated Cat Foster Coordinator and valued board member, along with her husband Matt, are facing one of the most terrifying and uncertain battles of their lives.

Matt is currently in the ICU at The Ohio State James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is on a ventilator and undergoing dialysis while doctors work tirelessly to determine exactly what is going on. At this time, they strongly believe cancer is involved, but they are still searching for answers. Matt has a very long and difficult road ahead of him, and he needs every prayer, positive thought, and bit of strength we can send his way.

While Matt fights for his life, Catina has not left his side. Because of his hospitalization, both Catina and Matt are unable to work. As you can imagine, the financial strain is already beginning to build with medical expenses, travel costs, gas, food, and extended hotel stays far from home. The stress of worrying about finances should be the last thing on their minds during such a heartbreaking time.

Anyone who knows Catina and Matt knows how selfless and compassionate they are. They have dedicated so much of their lives to helping animals in need, supporting our rescue, and loving their family, children, and grandchildren with their whole hearts. Catina has helped coordinate and save countless cats, kittens, puppies and dogs, often working behind the scenes to ensure they find safe, loving homes. She gives her time, energy, and heart without hesitation.

Now it’s our turn to give back to them.
