On September 16th, the Ensz family welcomed Elisabeth, a healthy and happy little girl. Both were discharged on Thursday of that week. Over the weekend, Catie was experiencing pain so intense that she couldn't stand. She went into the Emergency Room in Fair Oaks and then transferred to Inova Fairfax hospital.
It was found out that during Catie’s C-section surgery her bladder was punctured and had become septic. She was sent into emergency surgery to remove the infection on Sunday. Since then she has been hospitalized and has had several complications including the discovery of E. coli poisoning. They are expecting another week or longer in the hospital and care/and assistance needed for weeks after she is released. She is devastated because it means being away from Elisabeth and the rest of her family. Drew is caring for her, Elisabeth, and their other kids. Family has come in to offer help as well, but can only do so much as needs are increasing the longer Catie is away.
The funds that are going to be raised will go towards medical expenses, helping Catie’s salary for additional time off, meal assistance both in the hospital and at home, offering care and help at home, and other unforeseen expenses. If you can give please do so, and look for updates here or on Drew’s Facebook page, as things are changing quickly. Thank you in advance for your help and support.
