My mom, Cathy Stevenson, was rushed to the ER Sunday Night (11/23/25) due to being unresponsive and very lethargic. She was getting ready to go to eat with her youngest daughter, Cierra. When she was getting ready she started to mumble her words and was having a hard time walking. Upon arrival to the ER they gave her a CT Scan and noticed the left side of her brain was bleeding. The bleeding was putting so much pressure on her brain that she needed to be med-flighted to La Crosse for emergency surgery.
During surgery they located a blood clot on the left side of her brain that they said is unusual looking, it was sent to Pathology for a deeper look at what it could be if anything.
Although Mom has always been a hard worker, she did take the year off of work due to some other health issues. So this long term hospital stay is going to take a toll on her finances. Her road to Recovery is long and we are unsure of what kind of medical care she may need in the future.
Update (11/26): Not the update I was hoping to make. My mom took a turn for the worse this morning. My sisters and I made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to move my mom to palliative care. Continued prayers and good energy are appreciated as my mom prepares to leave this world.
