Support Cathy Cook's Medical and Living Expenses

Hi all, i'm Ryan. Many of you know me as Cathy (Wilkinson) Cook's son. In 2022 she moved down to Orlando, Florida to be closer to me. On Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 8:46am I found my mom Cathy unresponsive in her apartment which thankfully, is only minutes from me. Her boss called me that morning to say she hadn't shown up for work and didn't call, which is highly unusual. Upon finding her, I attempted to wake her up thinking she had just overslept. This wasn't the case. I called 911 and paramedics were there in less than 5 minutes. She was transported to AdventHealth Orlando and they were able to get her awake and responsive. Her blood pressure was dangerously low, which could explain how I found her. They began administering medications for that to help raise her blood pressure but her body wasn't responding. Her blood pressure continued to drop and then came chest pain and shortness of breath. Eventually the symptoms became so severe that she needed transferred to the MS-ICU (Multi-System Intensive Care Unit). There, chest x-rays showed that her lungs were completely filled with fluid and each x-ray became increasingly worse. On Friday (10/4) morning her blood oxygen levels dropped to a dangerous low. The doctors decided she needed to be intubated and placed on a ventilator. Since then, she has been in a medically induced coma while the ventilator does the hard work for her. Thankfully I was able to be there with her prior to this happening. There's no way I would let her go through that alone.

Since then, her monthly bills began piling up. Everything became due on the 1st of the month. My ask is that we help her return to a stable situation when she eventually recovers, and any little bit you can spare will help me ensure her bills are the last of her worries.
