In March of 2019 Cat was involved in a serious car accident, causing left sided herniated discs at C5/C6 and L5/S1, lumbar annular tear, permanent nerve damage to the deep peroneal nerve in the left leg, atrophy of left foot muscles, CRPS of the left foot, left ulnar nerve damage, nerve damage to the left C5/C6 nerve bundle.

Over the last 6 years Cat's accident has caused severe on-going medical challenges that have dramatically affected her quality of life, her ability to care for her family (4 children under the age of 17), and have kept her home bound for months/years at a time. In October 2025 Cat was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center as she has been unable to walk or move without physical assistance. Activities we take for granted such as cooking a meal, dressing ourselves, or just taking a shower are things she is not capable of without her husband Steve, or her kids, assisting at various levels. Even standing for more than a minute without assistance creates a level of exhaustion few of us can imagine as her body shuts down without warning due to this profound weakness. Cat is now experiencing severe burning pain in the left side of her neck, extreme difficulty raising her left arm, and numbness across the left side of her face. Despite spending most of October in the hospital and at an inpatient physical therapy facility, the medical staff have noted that the PT is making the issue worse.

The nursing staff and doctors at Vanderbilt have acknowledged they lack the information/expertise needed to treat her appropriately. The entire process, and lack of advocates for Cat's care, has been disheartening and has felt like a major blow as the future is as cloudy today as when all of this started.

The entire journey has been overwhelming to the family physically, emotionally, and financially. Due to Cat's current health issues Steve has exhausted all of his PTO and sick leave. While FMLA allows him to take time off to care for Cat and help her get to appointments, all of this time is unpaid. Steve has been working major amounts of overtime to help pay the regular bills, while their children Kiley, Grant, Parker, and Eli do what they can to keep the house clean, cook meals, and still attempt to live the kind of normal lives all kids deserve.

We are raising funds to support this brave family during the hardest moment of their lives. Donations will go directly toward:
• Cat's critical medical care and recovery.
• Family support services.
• Lost wages for the family.

Whether $10 or $100, every donation makes a difference and lifts a portion of the financial burden while helping the family make medical decisions without worrying if it will affect their ability to keep the lights on or put food on the table.

We realize that not everyone is in a place to donate, but everyone can help by sharing this page across your social media accounts. We also ask that if you feel led that you pray for Cat and her family. Pray for direction. Pray for doors to open and clarity on what the next steps need to be for healing. Thank you!!!
