Cat Therapy is now officially a nonprofit, and our hearts are so full.

Over the last 8 years—together with our Santa Barbara community—we’ve fostered, socialized, and helped more than 1,000 cats find loving homes. Your donation supports this work, and helps us maintain a space where both people and cats can heal together.

Cat Therapy is kicking off 2026 with a simple goal: keep our foster-and-socialization lounge thriving, welcoming new fosters, and creating a calm, supportive environment where cats—and people—can exhale.

We’re raising $5,000 to start the year on stable footing and strengthen the lounge that makes this work possible every day. Your support helps cover:

Daily foster care supplies (litter, cleaning supplies, laundry, enrichment basics, and other essentials)

Space improvements + cat comfort upgrades (repairs, storage, layout tweaks, and replacing worn items so the space stays safe and cozy)

Hygiene + air quality (air purifiers/filters, deep-cleaning supplies, odor control, and tools that keep the lounge fresh and healthy)

A small operating cushion to start 2026 strong (rent, utilities, insurance, and basic overhead so we can stay consistent and keep the doors open)

Mission + community experience (educational signage, small guest-experience upgrades, and tools that make visits smoother and less stressful for the cats)

Medical care is handled by our rescue partners; this fundraiser supports the foster lounge—daily care, socialization, enrichment, and keeping the space running.

  • Every contribution—small or big—helps us keep fostering, keep improving, and keep showing up for the cats who need a safe place to land. Thank you for being part of this mission.

Cat Therapy is a nonprofit public benefit corporation in California and we’re currently applying for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Donations made now directly support our foster and socialization program and the care we provide in our lounge. Once our 501(c)(3) status is approved, donations will be tax-deductible retroactive to our incorporation date.
