Hi,
I am Zainab from Mumbai, India and my house has taken the shape of informal cat shelter since I rescued a cat last year.
My recent adoption of 2 months old two kittens, of a 2 year old stray cat Choti and the learning process of healing, vaccinating, feeding the little babies has encouraged and empowered me to look after more of them, who often move around my neighbourhood.
Since August 2025 I have become a carer of roughly 10 cats, including two little kittens who are no more than 2 months old. The third kitten sadly passed away due to lack of urgent medical care.
I need funds to help these cats, most of whom suffer from various ailments. In short, they need KMR, wet/dry food, some litter boxes, neutering, veterinary attention and medicines for gingivitis, mastitis, respiratory infections, and deworming, flea and tick removal, etc.
Here's a brief breakdown about these little darlings:
Choti - She is shy and reserved, I have been feeding her since August 2025, still she won’t let me touch/pet her until few days ago when she was devastated after losing her kittens who fell in a narrow shaft from a 2nd floor terrace of my neighbours house.
She has developed a big open wound, mastitis, unable to breastfeed her kittens, she wandered 5 days in their search, while I waited for her to return. She did come back, but heartbroken and weak. She needs to be treated for mastitis, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and deflead. I am planning to find her a compassionate foster care for her to build her trust with humans and later to find her a forever home.
Arlo and Luna - They are 8-week-old kittens of Choti, rescued from a very dire living situation. Arlo is severely malnourished, has been diagnosed with herpes, has a sensitive stomach, needs to be fed small amounts of food, otherwise she vomits.
Luna has also developed scabs on his one ear and a raspy meow as if experiencing discomfort in his throat, allegedly associated with upper respiratory infection.
They have been prescribed worms, digestive, and immunity medicines along with tick and flea spot on. I will be taking them again after 15 days for follow up and hopefully if they gain enough weight, they can receive first shot of vaccine.
Their mama Choti eats and sleep in my window roof, she daily watches her kitten through window screen inside the room, where her two kittens are kept in my study room which I have turned a nursery for them to adjust and become comfortable.
Sona - She is 1.5 years old, very lovely, sweet hybrid cat, she has recently given birth to two kittens. She and her kittens need to be kept in a safe space, provided with constant care and necessary attention. The mama cat Sona will be neutered after the kittens are 3 months old. And they all need to be supervised for their overall health.
Raja - He is community/stray cat, 2-3 years old. He is very aggressive and gets in a lot of fight with other cats where he is often wounded. He also needs to be neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, and checked overall for any health concerns.
Angrez - He is a senior abandoned Persian cat, He is docile and aloof. His eyes are infected and are all red, has yellow discharge all day long. He needs immediate treatment for his eyes and also to be spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and deflead.
Socks - He is a 2 year old cat, very sweet and affectionate. He has a lump on his belly that needs to be examined and treated. Along with spaying, vaccines, deworming and deflead.
Chotey - Chotey is a very clingy and sweet boy, he is an older cat, aged 7-8 years old. He suffers from gingivitis and needs to be only fed wet food and medicines. Since he cannot live outdoors because of his infection and pain, he now lives in a foster care who charges a monthly fee to take care of him and I am looking for a loving home for him.
They regularly come at my window roof for food and to relax. They all lounge together, sometimes sharing the space with each others peacefully and sometimes being rather dramatic.
I request anyone that is reading this to please donate whatever you can. I need funds to keep this going.
Thank you,
Zainab
