Help the Castracani Family With Funeral Expenses and living
Donation protected
4/24/2025: Sam was buried 4/14/2025 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in a beautiful pink casket. We’ve said our goodbyes and are grieving deeply, but still have a lot of things to pay for. We’re waiting on the selection and purchase of Samis headstone as well as memorial decorations. We’re asking everyone for any help as the cost of everything including immediate family members from out of state and work is tremendous. Our parents have been out of work for weeks, as well as ourselves, trying to manage this sudden loss. Anything helps and is beyond appreciated. We love you all.
Update 04/03/2025: Sami Sam was pronounced brain dead this morning at 11:36 am. She looks absolutely beautiful and peaceful. She lost her fight to mental health, and we are grieving this loss today and everyday for the rest of our lives. Please continue to pray for us, for her soul, and help us give her the proper send off. Thank you everyone, we are asking for privacy as we try to wrap our heads around this unexpected loss. Samantha is an organ donor and will save many lives as her last testament on this earth. Please pray for our family.
UPDATE 3/31/2025: Sam is now a DNR, her body has been through too much- we’ve decided as a family and with several medical consultations that this is our only option to bring her peace as she will likely be transitioning too soon into the next life. I can’t believe I’m writing this right now. All donations will go toward her memorial and funeral if it takes this turn... Any extra costs will help our family cope as we will struggle for a long time to wrap our heads around this. We are losing our rock.
I’m reaching out to you today with a heavy heart. My sister is currently fighting for her life. Sadly, she suffered two cardiac arrests. She is now in critical condition, intubated and in the trauma center at Albany Medical Center. Her brain is severely damaged, causing distress on all of her organs and heart. She’s on cardiac life support and respiratory life support. We are praying and hoping she wakes up, and if she does that we have to wait to see if she can have a quality of life.
We are still awaiting news on her brain activity and her potential for recovery. Each day feels uncertain, but we are holding on to hope and praying for a miracle.
At this moment, our family is overwhelmed, emotionally and financially, with the immense cost of her care. As she continues to fight for her life, we need help to support her and cover medical expenses, as well as the added costs of being there for her every step of the way. We are doing everything we can to be by her side, but the burden of these unexpected medical expenses is taking a toll on us.
We humbly ask for your support—whether it’s through a donation, sharing our story, or sending positive thoughts and prayers our way. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in helping us take care of my sister while she battles for her life. We are forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.
Thank you for being there for us during this incredibly difficult time. This all will be used for medical bills and bills to keep her afloat. We are praying she makes it through this. We need her.
With love,
The Castracani Family
