Help Cassy live a comfortable and happy life!

I'm not a person that finds it easy to ask for help, but I'm willing to make an exception for this sweet pup! I recently acquired Cassy from a less than ideal situation where she was really struggling. My goal is to rehabilitate her both behaviorally and physically and find her a loving forever home! Anyone that knows me knows I will do anything for my dogs but this was a very unexpected situation so I'm hoping my friends can pitch in to help give her a second chance.

-- What Cassy needs --
Cassy is in need of Entropion surgery. Entropion is a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the cornea. If left untreated this condition can lead to serious eye complications, including corneal ulcers, scarring, inflammation, and even blindness or eye loss. Fortunately entropion can be fixed with surgery. Her surgery estimate is about $730 and her exam and presurgical bloodwork cost $100. As a result I'm hoping to raise funds to help offset these expenses.

-- Cassy's backstory --
Cassy was rescued from a rough situation with her littermates when she was just a baby and taken to a local shelter. She was adopted to a family with the intent of her being a family pet. Unfortunately her family was not able to provide proper training and exercise, leading to her developing behavioral issues. Some things notes by previous owner: jumping, scratching and mouthing kids, tail chasing, inability to walk on leash, etc. I was contacted by the owner's veterinary staff in a last effort to help this dog. The owners were no longer able to keep Cassy, all local shelters are full (including the shelter she came from refusing to take her back) and the owners were considering behavioral euthanasia. At just 10 months old I agreed to take on Cassy as a foster in order to remove her from the situation and evaluate her behavior and temperament.

-- My evaluation --
Although Cassy has not had a lot of training or socialization, she is a quick learner and is very food motivated. She has some naughty puppy behaviors, like jumping when she's excited and playing rough with other dogs, but I have not seen any of the more concerning behaviors indicated by her previous owner. This is not to say that she was not demonstrating them before but with a change in scenery and ample mental stimulation, Cassy is thriving. In just a week, she has adjusted to my home with multiple dogs, is walking well on leash, has been to a dog show, training facility and dog friendly store. I think Cassy would do well in a home without small children (at least until she is better trained) but would love another dog that enjoys a good romp. She will need daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy but this is not an extremely high drive dog. She would make a great hiking buddy or Rally obedience prospect. Cassy is still a little shy around strangers but this should improve as she gains confidence.
