My name is Kristina, and I created this GoFundMe for my best friend, Cassie Gonce, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Just one week after her diagnosis, Cassie began intensive chemotherapy. As she focuses on fighting this devastating disease, she will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, placing a significant financial burden on her family.

Cassie, her husband Matt, and their amazing two year old daughter, Alex, are the kind of family everyone is lucky to know. They are compassionate, generous, and always the first to help others in times of need. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.

Cassie has been my best friend since 7th grade, and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the kindest, strongest, and most selfless people I have ever known. Watching her face this unimaginable diagnosis is heartbreaking, but I know she won’t face it alone.
