Hello friends, family, and loved ones of Mathias & Cassidy -

On what seemed like a typical Sunday night this past weekend, black smoke suddenly began piling into Mathias & Cassidy's living room of their home in Key West. After running outside, they discovered that an entire side of their home was engulfed in flames from what turned out to be an electrical fire that got out of control.

A few items were lost, but that doesn't matter to the couple - Mathias, Griffin, and Cassidy are safe, unharmed, and out of the house.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stopped his car on the passing street to help extinguish the flames as quickly as possible, and 911 was promptly called. Without this quick support and response time, the home and belongings would've been completely gone.

With all of that being said... Though they are well, Cassidy & Mathis are out of a home for the foreseeable future. There is a gaping hole in the side of the home, all of their newly purchased groceries have been lost, no access to A/C or electricity in 105 degree heat, and slow response from the Red Cross while their Landlord & fire marshall suss out more information about the damage. They are currently relying on the Red Cross and their own bank account to find places to stay while Cassidy continues to work remotely. They cannot stay in their home for the foreseeable future until the electrician and fire marshall deem it safe - not to mention any repairs that may be necessary in that process.
