As many of you know, a member of our fire family is facing a challenging time as they have recently received a medical diagnosis that requires immediate attention and treatment. Cassidee originally went to her doctor in August of 2024 with complaints of pain and a lump in her breast. She was told that she most likely had Mastitis and sent home to try to ice and massage it away. Soon after, the lump continued to grow and she decided to get a second opinion. After going to her OB she was told later that day that she was positive for breast cancer. The official diagnosis is triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma stage 3b, meaning it is in its most aggressive form.

Ever since the diagnosis, Cassidee and her family have been nothing but positive and optimistic. They are doing everything that they can to brace for a very long journey of treatments, stress, and potentially multiple surgeries. Unfortunately, through this process, Cassidee and her husband have had to take time off work for treatments and to take care of their two small children at home.
