Support Cassandra's Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Donation protected
Cassandra, my 27 year old sister, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma back in March. Since then she has been in and out of hospitalizations, appointments and chemotherapy. She has not been able to work since her first hospitalization, and has no other source of income other than savings. A return to work has been predicted for late October, barring there are no complications in her treatment plan.
Cassandra was just starting her career as an occupational therapist at Encompass Health, and was recently promoted to the title of Senior Occupational Therapist just before this diagnosis.
While Cassandra is covered under the FMLA insurance plan, she is responsible for premiums and many out of pocket costs. Her health insurance helped with most of the initial expenses, however as the time has gone on the coverage has decreased and she is expected to contribute more to medications and services she needs to be able to fight this disease. While some organizations have been able to help with expenses, she was not financially prepared for this type of medical emergency.
Cassandra is receiving treatment at a branch of the Cleveland Clinic, and is responding well, but has a long time until remission.
I appreciate your time, thoughts, and any contribution no matter the amount. All funds will go towards medical bills and any shortfall in living expenses.
