As many know Santa Cruz area is a difficult place to find rental housing and especially with goats. Miracle of miracles, we have found a spot at Green Oaks Creek Farm off the Pacific Coast in the Año Nuevo area. I am so grateful that it is a long term, stable housing and land lease for me and my goats: Athena, Calliope, Solstice and Cosmos. While the housing is up and ready for me, there is not yet a place for the goats. We need to build a barn and fence in a pasture for them. Can you help us make that happen?

We live in an area where Mountain Lions also live. Goats can coexist with them IF we put the goats away at night in a lion proof barn. Because of the high costs of materials and labor this barn will be a costly endeavor that is beyond my budget, and so I ask my dear community to help with this GOAT-Fund-Me. Our move in day is end of January making it an urgent appeal.

Any amount will help—I know that the amount of this ask seems daunting especially at this time of year, so even if you are not in a place to give a lot or even at all, if you could help spread the word, that is its own gift.

These goats stand as a reminder to me and all that have met them, about the value and kinship that can be found in all forms (not just the human) and is something I strongly believe in.
