Cash is a 4 year old french bulldog who loves all things and is the best boy. He is still so young and we want him to get better ASAP!!
A few days ago he started having neurological symptoms so his parents brought him to the vet. They kept him overnight and he had an MRI this morning that showed he has meningitis that has spread to his brain and jaw bones. It is a serious diagnosis, but with treatment they’re hoping he’ll make a full recovery. He has full paralysis on the left side (eye and mouth). They now just need to ensure he wakes up from anesthesia, and they will keep him tonight as well for pain management. He is now on IV, then it will be very aggressive medication treatment at home for a minimum of 8 weeks. They hope all the paralysis will go away, but he may have a residual head tilt and pupil issues but the doctor said neither of those will affect his quality of life.
The vet bills are piling up and mom and dad already had to pay 10k for MRI and overnight care and the continued treatment will be a continued financial burden. Last year Cash was diagnosed with IVDD and underwent back surgery which he is still recovering from. That surgery cost his parents 13k. Cash is about to be a big brother as his parents (my aunt and uncle) are due to have a baby boy in November! Please help them decrease the burden of these vet bills as Cash is their first baby and they just adore him and he has so many more years as he is only 4! Any amount is beyond appreciated!! I Will keep you updated on his status as we know more.
