Help Cashew Get Life-Saving Surgery!
Cashew Nut is one of Alley Cat Advocates’ special cases of a longer-term medical care cat. When she came to Alley Cat Advocates from our partners Louisville Metro Animal Services, we discovered she has a liver shunt—a condition that prevents her body from properly filtering toxins. This can cause serious health issues, including stunted growth, neurological problems (like disorientation and seizures), digestive troubles, excessive thirst and urination, and a shortened lifespan.
We recently got the results from Cashew’s CT scan, and there’s good news—her liver shunt is operable! She is scheduled for life-changing surgery in April to repair it. This procedure has a high success rate, especially for young cats, and will drastically improve her quality of life.
But we can’t do it without you. This surgery is expensive, costing between $4,000 and $7,000, and we need your help to cover Cashew’s medical bills.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference! Please consider giving today and sharing Cashew’s story to help us get her the care she needs.
