As many of you know, our beautiful and resilient girl, Casey Nichole, is navigating her way through some severe storms. We must share both some devastating news and some exciting news about all of this for you here.
It is known that Casey has bravely walked a path in life that many could not so much as conceive, let alone manage. Starting as early as age eight, and continuing into her now 39th year of life, she has been steadily working through the forty plus different, severe medical diagnoses she has received: conditions occurring within every single one of her body systems.
In 2017 she was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer. With this diagnosis, Casey underwent grueling chemotherapy and radiation, held on throughout hundreds of hospital stays and painful procedures, worked her way through dozens of secondary symptoms, and was ultimately cleared in 2019. A warrior, ladies, and gentlemen!
While we have truly cherished the last four years that, at one time, we weren’t sure we were going to get, we are devastated to announce that Casey is currently enduring a recurrent and terminal metastatic cancer diagnosis. She is holding on tight to close family and friends as she begins her transition into hospice care.
To switch gears a bit, we are very much looking forward to her 40th birthday, which is September 8. Casey has two requests for this momentous occasion. First, she would like to visit the city of Nashville with her family and friends. She wants to visit one of her idols' restaurants, Friends in Low Places, buy herself an authentic cowboy hat and pair of boots, eat some delicious food, and listen to some good live music. Secondly, as an avid football fan, she would like to go with all of her people to see Patrick Mahomes (we don’t get it either, HTTR) play live, in the flesh.
So, needless to say, we are planning the road trip of a lifetime. Due to Casey’s various ailments, her harsh reality is that she is unable to remain vertical for long periods of time without experiencing excruciating pain. Because of this, we need some help making accommodations that will allow this trip to happen as comfortably as possible for her. We are asking for your generosity and support in helping Casey live with joy and adventure. No matter the size of donation, our gratitude is yours.
