Support Casen's Fight Against Kidney Cancer

Hi, my name is Cortney. I have gotten the pleasure of being Danielle & Rockey's family friend & loving on their kids.

I am making this GoFund me for this precious family who was just hit with the unimaginable news that their middle child Casen (7), was unexpectedly diagnosed with Nephroblastoma (Wilm's Tumor, which is kidney cancer).

In an unfortunate event on March 30th, he took a fall at the playground, falling on his back. Not thinking anything of it from just a simple fall they went home & continued life as normal. Next day, Danielle received a phone call from his teacher (Kirsten Conway) saying she was concerned that he was struggling to stay awake, complaining of side pain & looked pale. This prompted Danielle to take him to his PCP which then ended up landing them in the ER due to suspected appendicitis.

Upon arriving at the ER they performed a CT scan, where they found a subcapsular renal hematoma which is a bleed in the kidney, which was assumed to be from the fall he took. After 4 days in the hospital & several follow ups an ultrasound was completed which showed that the hematoma had healed but unfortunately had revealed a mass on his right kidney, which they feared could be a tumor. They immediately ordered an MRI to confirm if it was a tumor or not (which required complete sedation & a 1.5 hour MRI). This MRI was performed on April 29th & confirmed it was a tumor, emergent surgery was scheduled & by 6:00 am on April 30th he was taken back for a 5 hour long surgery to remove his kidney & tumor which would be sent off for testing to find out if it was malignant or benign.

After a long 7 day wait, they got the awful phone call that it was in fact, Nephroblastoma (Wilm's Tumor). They will be getting further scans this coming week to ensure it has not metastasized (spread) & from there they will begin their chemotherapy journey based on those results. This journey is just beginning for them & the medical bills are already stacking up, with the biggest ones yet to come. Danielle has always been an amazing stay at home momma taking care of their babies while Rockey works a full-time job. Being a one income family, with so many unexpected medical bills, travel expenses, time off for Rockey, & so many other unexpected costs, there is a definite need for financial help to relieve their immense stress with this.

Of course, they do not want to ask or expect any help but under these circumstances, this family is SO deserving of all the help that they can get! Let's rally around this family. If you cannot help financially, their family would appreciate all the prayers!
