Update 5/17/25: I contacted Paws for Peace and found that $499 only covers at home euthanasia. The cheapest option for communal cremation is $199. There is also a $95 for an extended distance fee (they are located in Queens and I'm in Brooklyn; I wasn't aware I was far enough for this fee). The total is $810.66 with fees and taxes. Therefore,I updated my goal to reflect the amount. His tentative appointment is Friday, May 23rd at 2pm.
Many of you know my journey with Casanova. 3 years ago he was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease. Last year, an ultrasound revealed multiple tumors in his digestive tract and around his liver. He had jaundice. He turned 17 years old in January. Since Monday, his appetite has decreased and he's barely eaten any food.
I don't want him to suffer, and I don't want him to be stressed out before going over the rainbow bridge. Paws for Peace offers at home euthanasia for $500 which includes everything.
Any bit you can contribute will help towards a peaceful crossover across the rainbow bridge. He has been with me for 17 years, since he was a kitten and found me in the street. I just want to do right by him.
