As some of you know, my bright and beautiful son, Cary, was in an accident Saturday afternoon, 10/25/25
He was riding on an ATV and fell off.
He was life-flighted to the hospital. He has suffered a traumatic brain injury/skull fracture on the left side of his skull. He is intubated and stable. He is receiving the best care.
He can move all his limbs, and when he starts to wake out of sedation, he fights, which is a good sign. He has a pressure monitor and drain in his head to monitor swelling, bruising, and fluids.
*update: Cary had flap surgery last night 10/26/25, to relieve the pressure on his brain and allow it to swell. Surgery went well. They are weaning him off of some sedation to see what he can do.
This is horrific, and I am often unable to take it all in.
Please pray for my beautiful and beloved son. We know the brain and body have an incredible capacity to heal, and we trust that our strong fighter boy Cary will do just that.
If you know Cary, you love him. He is kind, funny, creative, smart, a fantastic athlete and wonderful friend and the most wonderful son.
We believe in the God of miracles and healing. We trust His hand on Cary and our family. I ask that all who know and love us please pray and keep praying.
As a mother, this is my nightmare coming to reality. I cannot express what my son means to me. If you know us, you know how close I am with my children. Cary is the sunshine of our family. To see him this way has gutted me, and I ask for even more prayers that I be given the strength to walk through this and be the calm strength my sweet Bubba needs.
To those of you who have shown up and reached out, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I will have my best friend, Brandie, helping me keep people updated when I cannot.
We are asking for support during this time of uncertainty and trauma. It is still unclear the path ahead and what kind of care will be required. We will update as we know more.
