Support Cary's Journey to Recovery

Hello beautiful people. As some of you may know, Cary had a foot ulcer develop and was hospitalized in May of 2024. We were hopeful that the antibiotics and podiatry care we received after that hospitalization would help heal his foot and allow him to get back to living and loving life.

Unfortunately, the infection he was trying to fight returned which caused a second hospitalization in June. This time the infection spread into the 5th metatarsal bone. He had surgery to remove the entire 5th metatarsal and pinky toe. We are now back in the hospital as the infection came back despite many efforts such as heavy hitter antibiotics and home health care to help with wound care. Unfortunately, we were told that his foot cannot be saved and he will need to have a below the knee amputation. This is not the news we were expecting or wanting to hear and we are both scared and devastated.

At this point in time Cary has been out of work for nearly a month. He has short term disability benefits but those will only last for about 12 weeks. We are also now forced to find a new apartment as Cary will not be able to get up and down the stairs that go down to our apartment unit. We have also been told it will be about a year, if not more, for him to fully recover from this surgery.

We need funds to help with our living expenses. The money donated will go to housing costs (due to the move our rent will now be doubled), living expenses, and medical costs that are not covered by insurance. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated. I know money is tight for a lot of people but we always appreciate positive vibes and prayers ❤️
