Update from Tabatha 7/20 -

Yesterday surgery was successful and my skin graph was done. I’m on bed rest for a week. In 5 days we will check the leg to make sure the skin graph took. Prayers it is successful. 3 weeks of bed rest and I hope to be outpatient with check ups with my doctors here. I’ve stayed positive throughout this ordeal. My family has been close by my side taking care of me while in the hospital. My friends have been amazing, taking care of the house and animals, getting meals ready for our return home. We have a great support group.

Update from Tabatha this morning….

Yesterday a shark attacked me in S Padre. Thankful it was me and not the kids I was swimming with. I swam up closer to the beach and was pulled in. The shark was still in pursuit and Cary (my husband) hit the shark and kept it from having me for lunch probably. He also has a few sharks bites and was released yesterday. I lost my left calf. I have movement in my toes and circulation in my foot. I probably won't have full mobility when I'm put back together and will not have the same leg I had before. But, I'm alive. They will some exploratory surgery and cleaning today to see what can be done. Thanks for all the prayers and support.

This is Cary and Tabatha who just today had their world and their families world turned upside down due to a shark attack on S Padre Island. They were celebrating their youngest daughter turning 15 and our friend’s son proposing to his girlfriend earlier this week when today they were unfortunately attacked. She has a long road ahead for recovery so anything you could donate would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and please keep them and their family in your prayers.
