Support Carter's Brave Fight for Recovery

This GoFundMe campaign is set up to support Misty and Tre Jackson during a challenging time. Their son, Carter, experienced a tragic accident when he fell from his bunk bed in the early morning hours, resulting in a fall of about 5 feet that fractured his skull. They quickly took him to a hospital in Blairsville, GA, where they live, but he was soon transferred to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta for more specialized care. There, doctors confirmed he had a skull fracture and significant hearing loss in his right ear. After being monitored overnight, the medical team advised that follow-up appointments with an ENT specialist and his primary care physician would be necessary in 6-8 weeks. Carter was discharged around 5 PM, but by 10 PM, he began vomiting again, prompting another trip to the Blairsville hospital. Upon arrival, he was losing consciousness, leading to an urgent transfer back to Atlanta Children’s Hospital with a life support team. Further examinations revealed a fracture of the right zygomatic arch and a sphenoid sinus fracture, and unfortunately, he has now developed meningitis due to fluid leakage. Carter has been fighting bravely for five days, and throughout this ordeal, Misty and Tre have remained by his side, which has meant missing work and being away from their 3-year-old daughter. The road to recovery for Carter is expected to be long and uncertain, and with their home two hours away and currently on unpaid FMLA leave, they are in need of financial support.
