Support Carter's Battle with Gastroparesis

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a mother’s deepest plea for help. My sweet baby boy — my world, my everything — has been diagnosed with a severe case of gastroparesis, a condition where his stomach muscles are completely paralyzed. This means that he is unable to eat or digest food like most children, and his life has changed forever.

For over a year, we’ve been living a nightmare — countless doctor visits, endless tests, heartbreaking hospital stays — all while being told we were overreacting, or that he would “grow out of it.” But as a mother, I knew something was seriously wrong. We fought tirelessly for answers, and finally, thanks to the incredible team at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, we got the diagnosis we had feared but needed.

Since then, my brave little boy has undergone multiple sedated procedures and recently went through major surgery to have a GJ (gastro-jejunal) feeding tube placed, which will now serve as his lifeline. We are currently over 2 weeks into this hospital stay with no exact end in sight, facing a long road of treatment, therapies, and ongoing medical care.

The emotional toll has been unimaginable, and now the financial strain of mounting medical bills and treatment costs is becoming overwhelming. As hard as it is to ask, we are humbly reaching out for support. Every single donation — whether it’s a few cents or a few dollars — will go directly towards covering his hospital bills, ongoing treatments, medications, and specialized care he needs to live as normal and happy of a life as possible.
