My name is Carson, and I’m reaching out for support as I work to rebuild my life after a challenging year. My driver’s license was suspended for a year, and now I need to pay for an SR-22 from an insurance broker so it can be sent to the Oregon Department of Transportation. This is a crucial step for me to get a hardship permit, which I need for a job I’ll be starting soon. Along with these costs, I’m also struggling to cover my insurance, rent, and bills for this month.
This support will make a huge difference in my life. I’ve been working hard on my recovery—after being addicted to ketamine, I’m now nearly two days into detox at home, alone. I’ve also been sober from alcohol and marijuana for about four months, and this detox is the next step toward freedom from all substances. I want everyone to know that I have no temptation at all to use ketamine at this point, and I truly believe God has blessed me in this way. Being able to drive again and keep up with my bills will help me secure steady work and continue moving forward on my journey to sobriety and stability.
I want to thank everyone who supports me, and even those who can’t during the holiday season. It means the world to me that people are willing to help. I believe strongly in the ripple effect and have spent time out in the streets handing out flowers and spreading kindness. May the current be strong with us all—let’s continue to spread kindness, love, joy, and courage always.
