Support Carson's Fight Against Medullablastoma

Update// After a successful surgery carson is working on learning new things again, like speaking walking and getting back to himself. The Doctor explained it’d be a “Marathon not a Sprint”. After a few days we also have gotten an update from Pathology and what was thought to be “Just a mass”, turned out to be a very aggressive Cancer known as Medulla la stoma.

After As most people know, I have been best friends with Carson since the age of 9. From living with each other to college and now even working together in the past 3-4 jobs we have had. He recently was going through a bunch of bad episodes of extreme headaches. Some of them causing nausea and a lot of blurred vision. Over the past 3 months, he has been doing his best to “just deal with it”. During this time, he also was shortchanged a lot of money he rightfully earned while working a job in Texas. As a response to going 3 months of work and not getting paid, he had to come back to Florida. He had no places to really stay, and had to sleep in his car many nights.

After all of these trials and tribulations, he faced yet another one when one of his headaches caused worry to me and my family. So he went to the ER only to find out he was dealing with much more than a common headache or even severe migraines. After many tests and scans, the doctors located a tumor in his lower head/neck area creating a blockage of fluids and was diagnosed with what's known as hydrocephalus. Without surgery, hydrocephalus is a very life-threatening condition. He will be receiving surgery but as his family, I felt that helping him pay for the surgery is the least I can do for him. No matter anyone else’s beliefs, him and I both believe God makes no mistakes. He has reason for everything.

After receiving the horrible news, my family and his have done their best to comfort him.

Through all this uncertainty I can tell you confidently that you can have absolute certainty in one thing. That one thing is the standing that you have before God. You are saved by grace ALONE through faith alone. And I know that word grace is thrown around a lot with out context and it can be summed up easily in one Bible verse. 2 Corinthians 5:21 “He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Meaning Jesus who is fully God and fully man, left His throne of glory to come down to earth and live a perfect life since and was even tempted like sinners. He then was crucified to take on your sins. Now when God looks at you he sees the righteousness of Christ and when He looks at Christ He looks at him as the sinner you are and gives Him the punishment you deserve. You can not add anything that will help your standing before God. It’s really so simple. His grace saves you and the way it applies to you is through faith. A result of that salvation will be the good works but those works are not a way to earn salvation. I love you and hope this reminder brought you a bit of peace.
