Support Carrie Strozewski’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Carrie needs our help on her road to recovery. Fellow Orchard Park High School and Canisius College alumna, neighbors, friends, and professional connections of Carrie and her family, please join me, Carol Yemma Bartlo, in raising funds for medical care and rehabilitation needs for Carrie on her lengthy and challenging journey toward recovery.
Carrie’s children, Jacob, AnnaLisa, and Gabrielle provide insight into Carrie’s situation:
Unfortunately, on November 11th, our mom suffered a severe ischemic stroke. She was rushed to Mercy Hospital where she underwent surgery to remove a massive clot from her temporal artery. The surgery was successful, but our mom has a long recovery ahead of her. She will need to remain in the hospital until she is healthy enough to enter an acute rehab where she will be treated for several months.
While she has improved a bit each day, she is still unable to effectively verbally communicate and has significant weakness on her right side. She is able to understand us and shows us her fight, trying to stand up even within 36 hours of hospitalization. We are optimistic about her progress, but it is going to be a long and strenuous journey.
Your generosity, if you choose to donate, will be used to pay for her hospital stay, rehab, and other medical costs related to her recovery. We greatly appreciate any support you can offer, whether it be financially, or through thoughts, prayers, and reaching out.
Our mom is the strongest person we know. She has been a single mother for 17 years while working full-time to support her children. She gives to her children more than she ever gives to herself. She has survived Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma as well as Melanoma. She is a fighter, and we are confident in her will to get better.
Thank you all,
Jacob, AnnaLisa, and Gabrielle
