Please Support Carrie's Battle Against Cervical Cancer
Ordinarily, Ben and Carrie Fischer are like the rest of us. Private and resourceful. They do not readily ask for assistance but typically rely on each other, God’s love, and lots of hard work and persistence to overcome life’s obstacles. In 2021, they were married and began their journey “for better or worse, in sickness and health” and eight months ago, they were blessed with one of life’s greatest joys, the birth of their beloved daughter, Lorna.
While planning for the inevitable uncertainty we all faced when becoming new parents for the first time, they also learned that Carrie was diagnosed with early stages of cervical cancer. Faced with many difficult decisions, Carrie delayed treatments as long as possible to give Lorna the best possible advantages that a new mother can provide in these early months. Recent conversations with her doctors indicate that Carrie can no longer put off the treatments necessary to meet her next life challenge and so she will begin treatments next week.
Following surgery, Carrie will also undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which will be required five days a week. During this time, she will be unable to work and must drive from their home to Jacksonville to undergo the treatments. These expenses and everyday bills we all must endure will be substantial, so we’re starting this GoFundMe account to try to take some of the burden away from them during their time of need. It’s not easy for them to make such a request so we’re asking for your support to help alleviate some of their financial burdens while she focuses on her fight and recovery. Carrie, Ben, and Lorna greatly appreciate your assistance.
Even if you cannot donate at this time, we appreciate if you would help by passing the word and sharing this GoFundMe (even if you don’t personally know them). Anything helps. Much love and appreciation to you all. Thank you and God Bless You.
