Support Carrie: Surgery for a Beloved Bartender

You've probably been handed a drink by Carrie if you've ever had a night out in Greensboro, now she needs a hand (and a knee).

Carrie has been a long-time member and pillar of the Greensboro community. She's been a part of the bar & restaurant scene her entire career, so it stands to reason she knows everyone in town and all around. She has an electric personality, heart of gold, will of a champion, and a million dollar smile. I met Carrie back in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, bartending of course. We immediately got a long like peas & carrots . She's one of my best friends and introduced me to nearly everyone I know and love in Greensboro. She seriously is one of the best people in town and would do anything for the people she loves.

Carrie is just as often found on the dance floor as she is running in a trail with her dog, Peppercorn. She leads a very active lifestyle and we need to get her back out there!

While vacationing in Mexico in June, Carrie tore her ACL and meniscus and did not know the severity of her injury until she returned to the states. After multiple visits to the doctor it quickly became apparent that she wouldn't be able to walk correctly again without surgery. This type of diagnosis strongly impacts Carrie's livelihood and ability to provide for herself and her pets. While someone with a typical 9-5 would be able to return to work after a few weeks, this is not the case for someone in the bar industry. That being said, her recovery time is likely to be prolonged before she's able to literally and figuratively get back on her feet.

Projected pre and post-op expenses are mounting very quickly, and this isn't even including her daily life expenses such as dog food, people food, electricity bills and water. While Carrie is asking for help with the necessities, she is also asking for continuing help when it comes to the immediate physical therapy appointments that will follow right after surgery. She is uninsured, recently was denied medicaid and just quite simply needs financial help while facing a $30,000 surgery.

If you tipped her, laughed with her, shared a drink with her or had a great night thanks to her, every single dollar counts. Please help me help my friend. And if sharing this post is all you can do for now, that helps as well.
