Carolyn is healing well and has returned to remote work. She will continue to be closely monitored with ongoing tests and treatments.
Overall, it’s positive news and we are all maintaining an optimistic outlook.

UPDATE: July 30, 2024
Carolyn’s pathology results are in! She is loopy from the pain/meds but in general good spirits. Her sister Janine and her son Jonah have flown in to care for her. She is on the mend.
Good news:
- Lymph nodes are clear and surgery was a success!
- We are so close to the goal! Thanks so much to everyone for your kindness and generosity ❤️
Less positive news:
- It is very concerning how quickly her cancer spread in the period of 7ish weeks since discovery. Her cancer type is now categorized as “invasive” and has high chance of reoccurring after remission. She needs to make life changes to monitor it - further treatment is also TBA.
- Unfortunately, Carolyn caught Covid for the first time over the past week. Loss of smell and taste are the prominent remaining symptoms, but the worst is over and she is mostly recovered now.
Carolyn and The Daley family are extremely touched by everyone’s thoughtfulness, flowers, gifts and donations. It has been very comforting in this difficult time. They are beyond grateful.

Carolyn was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had surgery yesterday. Currently we are waiting for her pathology results, which should take another week or two.
She has 80% chance that it has not spread too far, and we are very hopeful that she will beat this! Any of us who know Carolyn is aware of her immense inner strength and boundless positivity. She has been taking all of this in stride with the sunniest attitude a person can have in this situation.
She was given 8 weeks to book an appointment as the cancer continued to spread, and after a series of disappointments, she managed to book one at a smaller hospital in San Francisco. She was cutting it close at about 7ish weeks out. Insurance doesn’t fully cover the cost of the surgery, but there was no better alternative.
Let’s show our support if we can, for one of the kindest, caring and positive people any of us has the luck of meeting.
