Billy Meredith, beloved father of Carolyn Meredith, passed away peacefully at home on Friday night, March 13th, surrounded by family and friends. After a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer, Billy’s passing has left his family heartbroken, but they find comfort knowing he is no longer in pain and was welcomed with open arms. Carolyn shared, “Daddy got His Wings last night and Heaven gained one of the best Poppi’s. We are heartbroken here on earth but we know he is no longer in pain and was welcomed with open arms. Stay tuned for a Celebration that would make this guy proud. We will gather together to worship, sing, spend time with friends and family, and if you knew Billy, we have to of course have some of the best Texas BBQ. We will miss him so much but will love him always.”
Carolyn now faces the difficult task of arranging her father’s funeral and celebration of life, as well as managing estate and legal matters. With no insurance to help cover these costs, she is bearing the financial burden herself. The funds raised here will go directly to help Carolyn honor her father’s memory and give him the celebration he deserves, while easing the stress of these unexpected expenses.
Many of you knew Billy as Carolyn’s Dad and as our Santa Claus at Christmas celebrations. His laugh was contagious and his love of life inspired everyone around him. Carolyn, our public works director, has given over 20 years of service to Sunset Valley and loved her father dearly. Her dedication and love of family shines through in her work for our community. Please join me in supporting Carolyn during this sad time and let us share our love for Billy. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.
