Hello, my name is Carol, a name lovingly given to me by my local community and family. I have been living in the United States since 2023, after being forced to flee my home country. Leaving was not an easy choice, but I had no other option after facing coercion, sexual assault, and death threats.

Since my arrival, I have made many friends in my community and have realized that I would like to study to become a nurse. I have a very nurturing personality that would fit perfectly in that career.

I am now in the process of seeking asylum and am raising funds to pay for my lawyer, who will represent me in court and guide me through the complex, lengthy asylum process. Having legal support is critical to my ability to stay safe and rebuild my life.
