Support Caroline After Trailer Rollover Accident
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Caroline- an aerialist / circus performer from Las Vegas. I was transporting all my circus equipment when I got into a very traumatic accident while towing, with my two dogs in the car. I was driving from Texas back to Vegas and was going up a hill in a very windy area in New Mexico. High winds caused my trailer to start fishtailing, right as I was coming around a curve at the top of a big hill. In an attempt to regain control and not hurt anyone I went to the median of the interstate, where the trailer then rolled and snapped off the hitch.
The truck stayed upright. No airbags deployed. I did not hit anything. No one else was impacted, and my dogs and myself are fine. I feel so grateful to walk away with only damage to my belongings. A wonderful friend came to rescue me from the wreckage, but now I am somewhat stuck.
I am waiting on insurance to do their thing, but in the meantime I need to stay in New Mexico to be able to go retrieve things I can off the vehicles while I wait to find out the status of my pickup truck. Because of this, I had to turn down gigs, cancel classes, and take on some unexpected expenses related to the stay.
These expenses include:
- deductible for accident
- dog food and supplies
- toiletries
- food for this unexpected stay
- potentially a rental car depending on adjusters inspection Monday
- replacing items for work that were lost that I need sooner than insurance claim will happen
I feel extremely uncomfortable asking for help, but after a few friends recommended I make this, I am asking my community for support. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on me and sent positive energy my way. I appreciate you all being so supportive while I deal with handling this devastating loss.
