For those of you that know our super hero Mom, Carol Haigh, know that she would do anything for anyone any time! In her time here on earth, she has helped the homeless, Salvation Army, Lions Club, multiple food kitchens, school and club teams, Christmas club giving trees, etc. Quietly from the sidelines, without recognition, she continues to help.

In the last 10 years, Mom has been fighting cancer head-on! She's put her cancer into remission several times with the help of chemo and radiation off and on! She has done this with such poise and positivity even with all the complications that have happened! It's hard to believe this cancer that she's currently fighting AGAIN has taken her to a state of needing help. For those following her story, you know that Mom was recently admitted to the hospital for just over a week. She's continuing to fight after 10 weeks of not being able to eat, resulting in needing a feeding tube and having to do radiation to try and shrink her cancer surrounding her heart and chest that is at stage 4. We're hoping if they shrink the cancer she will be able to eat again and be comfortable. Then maybe they can take the feeding tube out.

In April, they told us Mom has just 3-6 months to live. She plans to beat the odds, just as she has when they told her that with her type of cancer (uterine cancer, which has metastasized) "people usually survive up to 6 years." Well, it's been 10! Although the cancer has grown, Mom is putting up a great fight. Of course, she's not doing this alone!!! We've all been there every step of the way, including her recent need for round-the-clock care. Bills are adding up and she needs our help!
