On July 20, 2025, a devastating fire forever changed the lives of my mother, Carol Ann, and sister, Dawn. Thankfully, they were unharmed, but the fire destroyed our family home, leaving them with only the clothes on their backs.
The loss is overwhelming, with the fire claiming all their belongings, lifelong mementos, and irreplaceable heirlooms passed down from our grandparents - a truly devastating loss.
Although they have gradually replaced some essentials, they are now facing the enormous challenge of demolition and the lengthy rebuilding process. Every step of this recovery is proving difficult.
Despite this, my mother and sister show incredible resolve to maintain normalcy and hold on to hope that they will be able to return home. My mother commutes daily from Mililani to her job in Waianae at Tamuras. Every contribution will provide meaningful support as they work tirelessly to rebuild their beloved home and return to their roots in Waianae.
