Support Carol and Gina's Battle Against Cancer

Help Us Support My Mom Carol and My Sister Gina During the Fight of Their Lives
My name is Kelly, and I’m creating this fundraiser for the two most important women in my life — my mom, Carol Rogers, and my sister, Gina Taylor.
Both of them are now facing stage 4, incurable cancers at the very same time. Our family is overwhelmed emotionally, physically, and financially, and we are trying our best to hold everything together long enough to cherish whatever time we still have.
About My Mom, Carol
My mom has HPV-related, recurring stage 4 cancer. After 2 yrs of battling, she has made the heartbreaking decision to stop active treatment. She is currently in a nursing facility, working to regain enough strength to have some quality of life before eventually entering hospice.
The cost of her care will only increase. After 20 covered days in nursing care, she will have to pay $214 per day out of pocket to remain there. She survives solely on SSI and has no other income.
My mom is a mother to two grown daughters — me and Gina, a grandmother to 3, agreat-grandmother to 2 and a widow who lost her husband, my father, to suicide 29 years ago. She has known more loss in her lifetime than anyone ever should. Now we are fighting not to lose her too soon simply because she cannot afford the care that keeps her safe.
About My Sister, Gina
As if losing one loved one to cancer weren’t enough, my sister Gina was just diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladder cancer that has already spread to her liver and lymph nodes.Gina is a daughter, a sister, wife, mom of 2 and grandmother of 2. She is also The heart behind My Gigi’s Bread and a dedicated nurse at the Veterans Hospital of Phila. For many of you, the smiling waitress from Denny’s years ago or the nurse who cared for you at Jefferson. She has spent her entire life taking care of others — and now she is the one in need. This week, Gina begins aggressive treatment. Even with insurance, her cost is $900 per chemotherapy visit, which she must pay upfront to receive treatment. She will be undergoing weekly chemo, all while trying to continue working full-time at the VA. In the next three months alone, her out-of-pocket medical expenses will exceed $10,000, and that’s only the beginning.
Both my mom and sister’s cancers are incurable. The treatments they are receiving are purely life-prolonging, giving us more time — time we desperately want but simply cannot afford.
We are asking for help to cover:
My mom’s ongoing nursing care fees
My sister’s weekly chemo costs
Every dollar will go directly toward keeping them cared for, safe, and able to continue fighting. How You Can Help? No donation is too small. If you are unable to contribute, sharing this page helps more than you can imagine. My family is trying to navigate unbearable heartbreak, and anything you can do to help us breathe a little easier means more than words can express. We want to focus on loving them, comforting them, and being present for them.
