My spouse and I are volunteer fosters for a local rescue. We're looking to raise money to help cover the expenses of an unexpected surgery for an 8 week old kitten, named Carnitas, that was found in a car at my workplace. We are unsure if the car was the cause of his injuries or not, but at the end of the day he needed to receive 4 sutures and could be expected to receive another surgery if the sutures are not a suitable method to continuing his healing journey.
Carnitas lower jaw ended up experiencing a degloving. So essentially the skin and muscle was forcibly removed from the bone. Thankfully it was only on one side of the lower jaw and that he is young the prognosis is good for recovery. He is currently on a sedative to manage his pain and energy levels to a minimum to prevent more damage, as well as an antibiotic for his infection.
We're hoping to raise enough to cover his current bill, especially if he is in need of that second surgery. As well as his neuter and future vaccines. If for any reason we are to reach our goal and possibly go over it all extra donations will be given to our rescue No Paws Left Behind Kitty Rescue which will go help other kittens get their spays neuter, and any other medical needs as there is no shortage of kittens this year.
