I was recently officially diagnosed with Long-COVID after many months of prolonged illness and unexplained symptoms. In the fall I contracted COVID and although I recovered from the initial infection, I’ve faced serious complications. For months, I didn’t understand what was going on. Long-COVID is a condition that manifests differently for everyone. Personally, I most frequently have experienced debilitating fatigue, body aches and chills, brain fog, painful tingling in my extremities, and insomnia.

I was forced to leave my teaching job due to the severity of these symptoms, thus losing my main source of income. As a result, I have to move out of my apartment in Arlington as I am no longer able to afford the rent. Although I am grateful to finally have some clarity through an official diagnosis, the cost of testing, doctor’s appointments, and future treatment is significant.

This has all become overwhelming to manage on my own while also trying to heal. I decided to create this fundraiser in order to help cover medical bills, three remaining months of rent, and moving expenses.
