Hello, my name is Michaela Stanerson, and I am the biological daughter of Carmen Sleet, who recently passed away. I have two siblings, Michael Sleet and Myron. Our mother's life was marked by struggles with sickle cell anemia, resulting in frequent hospitalizations and a lack of support. I can only attempt to comprehend the pain she endured. Carmen's condition made her unable to work, as sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that causes abnormal hemoglobin production, leading to severe illness.
