Support Carmelo's Journey to Nationals

Hi my name is Carmelo and I am thirteen years old adaptive track and field athlete. I was introduced to this type of sport by my physical therapist Cindy Tokar at 4 1/2 years old. She was a volunteer at Angel City Games in 2015 and the rest is history. I was exposed to so many sports that I can do despite my disability. Thanks to my mom driving me to any and every sport clinic. At age six I did my first competition in track and field. I threw a shot put “tennis ball” and got a national record! I was definitely hooked.

It’s been amazing to be around my community and making long term friendships. I attended National last year and I am making it my goal to attend this year. I am exited for this track season.I attended Desert Challenge in Arizona and did very well.

But I still have two more to come GLASA Games in Illinois and Angel City Games in Los Angeles. These competitions will prepare me for National in Alabama. It will help us to cover traveling expenses. Like hotel stay, car rental, food and fuel for the car. These steps will help me to once again be invited to compete internationally. With that I will get me closer to the Paralympics 2028 that is my goals for my future to attend this.
I appreciate and thank everyone that donated and shared this!!!!
