Support Carmela's Journey to New Lungs

This is Carmela Melendez, my best friend. Carmela was a former Spanish teacher in Amarillo, Texas. She is 59 years young and the mother of 4 children, grandmother to 5, and has one grandbaby on the way! She has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and now she needs a double lung transplant. She also wears a pacemaker/defibrillator. She has to be living in Houston, TX in order to be on the lung transplant donor list. She absolutely lives on a fixed income of about $800.00 a month. She needs your support, help, and a donation. The expenses are overwhelming and necessary. She has to travel between Amarillo and Houston until the donor board makes their decision. She has to find suitable housing and 24-hour care. The travel expenses and lodging to do testing at the hospital in Houston have broken the bank. None of us want to ask for help, but if you have ever considered supporting or helping someone, I would ask you to help her.
