Support Carly’s Recovery from Epilepsy Brain Surgery

Our sweet daughter, Carly, was diagnosed with epilepsy at 21 years old. Carly is such a compassionate and smart young lady, and just when she was ready to take on the world as a University of Florida graduate (Go Gators!), everything changed. I’ll share her story in her own words…

“In 2020, my entire world changed. One day I was fine, and the next day I had a grand mal (tonic clonic) seizure. This persisted for months before ever getting formally diagnosed with epilepsy, let alone medication-resistant epilepsy, which I was diagnosed with in late 2025. Since that very first one 6 years ago, I have battled through countless seizures, tried endless medications, and endured what feels like an eternity of hospital stays. It affects my everyday life, regardless of whether I have a seizure or not.
After recently getting under the care of the wonderful neurology department at NYU Langone Hospital, their expert team has concluded that brain surgery is the option to reduce (and hopefully to eliminate) the frequency of my seizures, which as of now occur 3-5+ times per week.
I am inherently a little afraid of undergoing brain surgery, but what scares me more is the idea of having to carry on like this. My epilepsy is fighting like hell to swallow me up, and my loved ones have unfortunately seen this over the past couple years - but now is my chance to fight back. April 2nd is my surgery date.
I’m asking for help. Whether large, small, or just a hopeful thought sent my way, I kindly appreciate whatever you may be willing to offer. If anything, I’ve learned over the past 6 years that it takes a village, and sometimes asking for help is all you can do.
With nothing but love,
Carly”

Carly will have an extensive recovery time from her surgery, lasting up to 6-12 months. The financial burden of everyday living expenses will quickly add up, as well as the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges that she may face.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards supporting Carly during this time. If you are able to give, share, or simply keep Carly in your thoughts, it will mean the world to us. Your support will allow Carly to focus on her recovery, and remain surrounded by the love and community that cares so deeply about her.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us offer Carly a chance at a better life.
