Support Carly in ALS battle

Donation protected
Carly Haga has become so much to so many. She's a mother to four-year-old Ronald, a wife to Daniel, a beloved teacher at Primrose School at Afton Village in Concord, a daughter, a friend - the list goes on and on. She's touched our lives - and now, it's time for us to return the favor.

At 33-years-old, Carly has been diagnosed with ALS.

Also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that affects the brain and spinal cord nerve cells. ALS patients will gradually lose the ability to control muscle movement. While every ALS case is different in terms of severity and timeline, there is no cure.

The diagnosis is shocking and devastating, though not foreign to Carly's family: her brother, Ron, battled ALS, too. He passed away in 2017 at 34-years-old. As Carly now sets out on this journey, we are turning to GoFundMe to help support her through it.

A study commissioned by the American ALS Association found the total cost for disease treatment to be more than $1,000,000. Those costs include medications, medical equipment, hospital stays, home care, and lost wages due to inability to work. The money raised here, through your generous donations, will help ease the financial burden for Carly and her family as they take on astronomical bills so that she may live as comfortably as possible.

I am one of the Primrose parents lucky enough to say their child was taught by Carly. Affectionately known as "Haga," she is a constant in her students lives, even when they're out of her classroom.

She's taken care of so many of our community's children. Now, it's our turn to take care of her.
