Support Carl's Education: A Tribute to Ryan

Hello,

My name is Tammy, and I’m the founder of the RC13 Foundation—a legacy foundation created in honor of our son, Ryan. Ryan passed away suddenly in 2019 from Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome while playing professional baseball in New Zealand.

Over the past year and a half, we’ve been fortunate to have an unpaid intern, Carl Bowling, serve as our Operations Director. I met Carl through the baseball card community after he and his friend Chad reached out—they had come across a few of Ryan’s cards and wanted to return them to our family. What began as a thoughtful gesture sparked a deeper connection and conversation.

Carl is a retired, disabled veteran currently pursuing a degree in sports agency and marketing. He’s attending school through the GI Bill and has only nine credits left to graduate. Unfortunately, he’s now at risk of running out of funding before he can complete his degree.

Education was something Ryan deeply valued. He often expressed frustration about the high cost of pursuing it. Supporting Carl in finishing his degree feels deeply aligned with the mission and spirit of the RC13 Foundation. Despite facing significant physical challenges and undergoing numerous surgeries, Carl has remained dedicated—to his education and to helping grow our foundation.
