Support Carlos Ugalde's Fight Against Kidney Failure

Hello, my name is Carlos. I’ve been struggling with type 2 diabetes for a long time since my late 30s. Now, I have been diagnosed with kidney failure at age 57. It’s been two years of trying different options for treatment. It hasn’t been easy since I used to be a very active person with a career as a plumber/handyman. I thank God for all the wonderful people He has placed in my life to help me during this season of sickness. I have learned not to take anything for granted.

The reason we are seeking funding is to help with housing since our savings have been greatly impacted. I managed to get help from my hospital with medical bills, but my wife has had to take care of our financial obligations, and it’s been a lot for her. She suffers from carpal tunnel in both hands and knees and has had two surgeries. I feel guilty and stressed out at times since there’s really not much I can help with. I’m in and out of dialysis treatment, and if I’m not in treatment, I’m in the emergency room or intensive care unit. My heart is being affected by this whole process. Sometimes my heartbeats are so low I have to be hospitalized for a week or more.

For these reasons, I’m looking for your kind help. We know money doesn’t solve happiness, but in this circumstance, we need help. Unfortunately, there are not many resources for kidney patients or funds that kidney patients can rely on. It is a very stressful situation not only for me but for my loved ones. I have been placed on a kidney donor list that can take up to 5 years of waiting (any help with possible kidney donor would be appreciated as well ).
