Support Carlos Davila & His Daughters
Donation protected
I'm launching a campaign on behalf of my father, Carlos Arsenio Davila II. He is 49 years old and currently on full life support.
My father has congestive heart failure, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. When he was 38 years old, he had a defibrillator surgically implanted next to his heart.
On June 10, 2020, my father was admitted to Advent Health East for shortness of breath, volume overload (water retention), nausea, and vomiting. These symptoms are related to his heart condition.
He was discharged on June 11, 2020. We suspect there was medical negligence, as he was immediately readmitted into the ER the same night. His liver tests appeared worse than they were earlier that day, and his health rapidly deteriorated.
On June 13, 2020, my father went into cardiac arrest. We lost him for approximately 5 minutes and the medical staff was able to resuscitate him. He was airlifted to Advent Health Orlando, where he is currently on full life support, including a ventilator, dialysis, and ECMO. He has multiple organ failure and internal bleeding.
My father is unmarried, and my sister (21 years old) and I (23 years old) are his closest relatives. Since he is completely unable to sign or verbally consent to anything, I need to become the legal guardian of my father and his affairs. My sister and I live in his apartment with him. We are dependent on his income. He still has rent and other bills to pay. He is on sick leave at his job, but I cannot access his bank account or any of his other affairs until I have legal guardianship. There are legal fees involved with filing for this guardianship.
Your donations will help fund legal fees and court fees, as well as medical bills we have received and will continue to receive as my father's time in the hospital progresses. We need this access to his accounts and assets as soon as possible, lest we risk losing his car, incur late fees on rent bills and possible eviction, and other expenses.
Thank you so much for your donations and prayers as we await my father's recovery.
